Position in law and ICT /media law (AADJ-CDJ)

In the framework of a EU co-funded research programme part of the Media Councils in the Digital Age project, AADJ/CDJ is looking for a first stage researcher in juridical science / IT media law (6 months full time).

Location : Brussels – Belgium

  • Job description

Under the coordination of the Secretary General of AADJ/CDJ, the research focuses on a comparative approach of regulation and self-regulation applicable in Europe to information and journalism, as well as on their possible coordination mechanisms. The research is based on both an in-depth qualitative analysis of selected cases and an online survey.

The appointment will be for six months beginning in April 2022.

AADJ/CDJ offers a challenging research experience in the European environment, a competitive salary in line with the job and the required experience, a group insurance, meal vouchers and a contribution to transport costs.

The ideal candidate will have, at the time of appointment, completed a Master’s degree in Juridical Science, with a focus on Media Law.

Specific knowledge – or an experience –  in media regulation and journalistic self-regulation is desired.

All work-related interactions are in French and in English / excellent English writing skills are essential.

The ideal candidate is also autonomous, organised, rigourous, reliable with a good analytical mind.

The Council for Journalistic Ethics (CDJ) is the self-regulatory body of the Belgian French and German- speaking news media. The Association for the Self-Regulation of Journalistic Ethics (AADJ) is the umbrella organisation of CDJ.

AADJ/CDJ is a partner* of the European project « Media Councils in the Digital Age » co-funded by Europe, which aims to support the European models of media self-regulation through a network of press councils – the Alliance of Independent Press Councils of Europe (AIPCE).
